Freshmen Dinner

We hope you had a good start during the Orientation Week! After a great intro, we will kick-off the year with the Freshmen Dinner. So come together again on Monday, September 12th, at 6:30 PM with your intro group to enjoy a meal at the Waagh (Mentors are also welcome). The costs for dinner are €12.50 for members and €13.50 for non-members. After this dinner we will all move on to the El Sombrero for the first Synergy drink of this year! The theme is chic , so keep this in mind. Also, don't take too much stuff with you. *You can unsubscribe up until 24 hours before the start of the activity. You will then receive back your money minus €0,36 iDeal costs.*

Synergy Drink: Chic

El Sombrero

To start the year right, the first Synergy drink is a fact. On Monday, September 12th from 9 PM, we will show our best dance moves in the El Sombrero while enjoying a drink. The theme is chic, so get your best outfit out of the closet. On arrival, we start with a chic shot and in the course of the evening a barrel of beer will be given away. This activity is free and for Synergy members only, so don't forget your member card. You can also join without subscribing, but a member card is obligatory. Tip: don't forget your dice.

(Pre-)Master Lunch

On September 13th, during the lunch break, there will be a free lunch for (Pre-)Master students! Get to know your fellow students while enjoying a delicious sandwich! It is of course also fun to join with your group from the NSM Welcome Day. P.S. registration is not required.

Are you interested in joining one of our committees?  Subscribe  for this event and let us know in which committee you want to participate! Active Membership   at Study Association Synergy means that you participate in one of the 23 committees that Synergy has. All committees have the purpose of organizing or supporting activities for members of Synergy. The nature of the activities differs from informal activities to major career events. You can participate in an informal committee or a formal committee. Promotion Stunt for the Business Trip

Now that the Business Trip destination is revealed, there is a promotion stunt to celebrate! Since we are going to Copenhagen, the 'Danish Dogs' (hot dogs) are not to be missed. Come to the Synergy Office on Monday the 19th of September, during the lunch break, to enjoy a delicious hot dog! You can also subscribe there for the Business Trip.

(Pre-)Master Activity: Poolen

House of Billiards

Come together on Monday 19 September at 8 PM for the first (Pre-)Master activity of the year to play pool at House of Billiards. Get to know your fellow (Pre-)Master students during this activity and show how good (or bad) you are. This activity is only for (Pre-)Master students and costs €2 for members and €3.50 for non-members. The activity lasts until about 10 PM. *You can unsubscribe up until 24 hours before the start of the activity. You will then receive back your money minus €0.36 iDeal costs.*

Synergy's Birthday

Tuesday, September 20th, is Synergy's birthday! To celebrate this, there is of course cake in the Synergy Office during the lunch break. There will also be a great giveaway on Instagram. So keep an eye on the socials and step by for some cake.

Open Synergy Party: Neon

On September 21st, Synergy's first Open Party will take place in the 3G. Everyone is welcome at the open party, so bring your friends. The theme is neon so put on your most colorful outfit to dance around.  Members are of course completely free during this activity, so bring your Synergy member card. Non-members pay only €2,-. Please note: you can only pay by card at the door.

General Members' Meeting

On  Tuesday the 27th of September , the annual inauguration of the new board will take place during the General Members' Meeting. During this meeting, the board of 2021-2022 will evaluate the past year and the candidate board of 2022-2023 will present their plans for this year. The General Members Meeting will be in Dutch. The General Members' Meeting will take place at  Café Faber  (Van Broeckhuysenstraat 12-14, 6511 PH Nijmegen). From  18:30 hours  you are welcome and at  19:00 hours  the meeting will start. The General Members' Meeting is  the time to let your voice be heard  and leave your mark on the future of the association. This way you get the opportunity to participate in discussions about matters such as: the budget of your committee, planned activities, the promotion of your interests within the university as well as other developments within the association. In addition, multiple drinks are arranged and you can enjoy some tasty snacks. So grab this opportunity and join us for the General Members' Meeting! After subscribing, the agenda, the evaluation of the policy plan, the vision of the candidate board for upcoming year and the minutes of the last General Members Meeting will be sent to you. If you would like to receive the evaluation of the financial plan as well, you can request it by sending an email to our  secretary . All the documents will also be available at the Synergy Office (EOS 00.180) from the 13 th  of September. If you do not understand Dutch, our  secretary  can send you a summary in English. The agenda of the General Members' Meeting is available  here . In the agenda, you will be able to see an overview of the topics that will be discussed.  We expect you to read these documents in advance of the General Members' Meeting. Also, send your questions regarding the documents to  chairman@synergy.nu , ultimately by  Thursday the 22th of September . The questions submitted will guide the General Members' Meeting.  Unlike a typical General Members' Meeting, not all text will be read aloud. Therefore there's extra emphasis on reading the documents beforehand. The board will summarise, clarify and provide examples where necessary. As stated before, questions can be sent in   until Thursday the 22th of September. The submitted questions will be answered when discussing the parts concerned in the documents. If you cannot attend the General Members' Meeting, please send an e-mail to  secretary@synergy.nu . Someone else can cast your vote for you, if you let us know  at least 24 hours  before the start of the General Members' Meeting. If you cannot attend, but you are interested in receiving the documents, please send an e-mail to  secretary@synergy.nu  to receive these documents. 

Karaoke Night

On Wednesday, September 28th, show your best singing skills during an evening of karaoke at Roxy's karaoke bar. We will start singing from 21:00h and it will last until about 1:00h. Members pay absolutely nothing for this activity and it costs €3.50 for non-members.

Opening Stunt NCE

Nijmegen Career Event (NCE) is one of the largest career events for students in Nijmegen. The NCE will take place this year on the 22nd and 23rd of November. The opening stunt of NCE will take place on Thursday the 29th of September. Frozen yoghurt is served during this stunt, so come get a delicious frozen yoghurt!
