Low code: discover how to build applications, without coding!

More and more organizations are using low-code platforms such as Mendix and AppGyver to build applications quickly and easily. That is why the demand for talented people who master this new form of application development is growing as well. Orientation Week 2021

Starting from Sunday the 22nd of August, we will welcome our new students to our beautiful city! Up until the 29th of August, we will be organising amazing activities and events to make sure that we start the new academic year with a bang. Mentors can buy tickets for their groups starting monday the 23rd of August at the Synergy Office.

Mexican Buffet

The first activity of the orientation week is the Mexican Buffet at the Sjors & Sjimmie. Join us on the terrace and enjoy a burrito or nachos and a drink while you get to know each other and especially Nijmegen! We are very looking forward to welcoming all the mentors and new students in Nijmegen and at Synergy. This dinner will start at 19:00h until 20:30h, after that we will head to our next activity at Cafe Ruygh. Tickets cost €6,50 for a full dinner plus your first consumption! Mentors can buy tickets for their group for this event. The ticket sale starts on Monday the 23 rd of august at 15:00 (so before the introduction market), at the Synergy office!

Pubquiz & Party Bingo

This Pubquiz & Party Bingo is really to get to know each other, Nijmegen and life as a student. Ensure that you’re with (a part of ) your group and that you’re ready, cause there are nice prizes to win! We also want to tell you that this bingo is not a usual bingo, we don’t want to ruin the surprise already, but ensure that your self-knowlegde and your knowledge about music. Tickets are €5 each and include 3 consumptions and a shot! If you’re not 18, we don’t serve alcohol. Mentors can buy tickets for their group for this event. Cantus

On the tuesday night of the orientation week, Synergy organizes a cantus. A cantus is a true studentevent, something that we have all really missed the last few years. A beer cantus is about getting to know each other by singing songs together and drinking beer. It’s the best way to start your student life! We will start the Cantus at 20:45h and it will last up until 00:00h. Tickets for this event are €10. This includes beer for the entire evening. Mentors can buy tickets for their group for this event. You need to be either negatively tested, or completely vaccinated. If you’re not 18, we don’t serve alcohol.

Orientation Dinner

We’re going to have dinner in one of the most well-known restaurants in Nijmegen, the Waagh! It is a really nice restaurant in the center of Nijmegen. There are three different dishes for you to choose. Meat: Marinated spareribs Fish: Salmon with flavored skin Vegetarian: vegetarian schnitzel with a complementary sauce. If you have any allergies please mention them as well! We will start the dinner at 18:00h until 20:30h. Afterwards we will continue to our next activity. Tickets are €7,50 for a full dinner plus your first consumption. Mentors can buy tickets for their group for this event. Terrace Night

After our dinner at de Waagh on the Wednesday of the Orientation Week, we will move to the terrace of Sjors & Sjimmie at 21:00h to continue drinking together to get to know each other even better. More information about this event will follow soon.

Management Madness

It is time for a party! On Thursday we obviously have the locolocodisco at the honigfabriek. Since this works with timeslots, and bedrijfskunde had their timeslot during the day, they can keep on partying with us in the evening at the Management Madness party! Business Administration had the locolocodisco in the evening, so they can have a little preparty with us during the day! This event will work with testenvoortoegang.org. Orientation Battle

On the Friday of the Orientation week, our yearly Orientation Battle will take place. This day is filled with a variety of games and events for the introduction groups. At the end of the day there is a barbecue included as well. This event will work with testenvoortoegang.org. You need to be either negatively tested, or completely vaccinated. Tickets for first year students are €8,50 and €5,50 for mentors. More info about this event will follow very soon!

G4 Party

We will end the Orientation Week with a big bang: the G4 Party! The G4 stands for the four biggest Study Associations of our City. Together with JFV from law, MFVN from medicine and TFV from dentistry we have the full tent party on de Molenstraat for ourselves! This is one of the biggest parties you can't miss. We will start partying at 18:30h up until 23:30h. Tickets cost €5 each. Mentors can buy tickets for their group for this event. RE-DOrientation

* This activity is only for students who have s tarted studying in the academic year 2020-2021 or before * Are you jealous of the students who are able to enjoy the orientation week this year? Don’t worry, we've got you! The 31st of August we will (re)do the orientation together with you. We’ve got a full day planned, because we’ll stuff the entire week into one single day. The activity during the day will start at 14:00 with an active programme, next we’ll have an amazing dinner and we’ll finish the day with a silent disco. In short, you won’t want to miss this! Members pay only €10,- for the entire day. Register no later than the 29th of August. You can de-register up until 24 hours before the start of the activity. You will then get back your money minus €0,36 iDeal costs. You can register by yourself or enroll with a team of max 4 people. *For the evening activity we will work with Testen voor Toegang.
