Meet our new Commissioner External Affairs: Tom Vriens

August 20th, 2017

Tom Vriens

The candidate board would like to introduce itself one by one this week. Meet our new Commissionar External Affairs today, Tom Vriens

Hi everyone!

My name is Tom and I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Helmond, which you probably have heard of because of its high crime rate. Since two years I have a room in Ubbergen, a small village near Nijmegen. This means I have to walk up a mountain every day to get to the university.

One of my hobbies is rock climbing, which I try to do a few times a week in a climbing hall and sometimes for a couple of days in the mountains. I also like to go for a run, but only if the weather is nice. Besides that I like to party and to hang out with my friends. Finally, I love to sleep until late in the day, although I don't think I will have a lot of time for that this year.

Last year I was a member of the Sports Committee. The Sports Commitee organized a number of sportive activities, such as dodgeball on trampolines and a soccer tournament. However, the highlight of the year was the Batavieren race. This is a relay race from Nijmegen to Enschede, that ends with the biggest studentparty in the Benelux.

My role in this years board will be that of Commissionar External Affairs. As Commissionar External Affairs I will be the contact person for all companies our study association cooperates with. I will also be responsible for establishing new collaborations.

I am looking forward to the upcoming year and hope to see you all at our activities and in the Synergy room!

Kind regards,

Tom Vriens
