On Wednesday, the 13th of December, it was finally time for the first Active Member Activity of the academic year. The Active Member Activities (AMA) are events organized as an appreciation for all the committee members of the Synergy Study Association.
This year, we all gathered at Planet Awesome at 18:45. Planet Awesome is an entertainment center where you can play lots of different games with each other. Everyone already knew that at this entertainment center, you could do activities like karting, bowling, karaoke, laser gaming, and glow-in-the-dark golf. Yet, the activity was successfully kept as a surprise until the actual kick-off of the AMA.
When everyone arrived, the announcement was made that we started this AMA with some bowling fun! The night started with drinks at the bar in Planet Awesome, and after a while, we slowly made our way to the bowling alley. Although not everyone was blessed with amazing bowling skills, we still had lots of fun and laughter. The perfect opportunity to bond with your fellow committee members! After an hour of bowling, we made our way back to the bar for a quick break that consisted of a few more drinks and chit-chat. Then there was a second round for the people who wanted to give it another shot or maybe even get some revenge.
After the second round of bowling, we all moved along to BAR 2 for our second activity. Yet again, this activity was successfully kept a secret until the last moment. We were informed to make teams, so we could get started on the quiz! We had to fill in a form that consisted of lots of random questions, and the winning team would get an applicable gift. Although filling in the form was a little bit chaotic, it definitely flexed our brain muscles or, for some teams, their finger muscles trying to quickly search up the answers on their phones. No hard feelings though ;) Whatsoever, the winners were announced, and of course, they couldn't leave the night without their brand new Synergy wine glasses!
After the quiz, the Open Synergy 'Barbie & Ken' Party was getting started! Throughout the evening, there were plenty of drinks flowing, creating a lively atmosphere, and we witnessed lots of dance moves. Everyone showed up in their most beautiful barbie or ken outfit and was enjoying themselves throughout the night!
To conclude, the AMA is an activity you do not want to miss as an active member of Synergy. It's a great way to show the appreciation for the committee members and have a good time bonding with others. I think it's safe to say that everyone is already looking forward to the next edition!
