August 19th, 2018

Bianca Balvert

The candidate board would like to introduce itself one by one during this orientation week. Today it`s time to get to know our new chairman: Bianca Balvert.

Hello everyone! My name is Bianca Balvert and this year I will be the chairman of Synergy. First, let me tell you something about myself. I am 23 years old and a master student  Organizational Design and Development. Originally, I come from Duiven, a small village near the city of Arnhem. By now I have already lived in Nijmegen for three years. In my free time I like to shop, dance and go out with my friends. In a bar you can usually find me on the dancefloor.

In my second year of my study I joined Synergy. I joined a committee because I wanted to learn to organize activities with a team. I have been a member of several committees at Synergy, my first being the Career Committee. We organised several formal activities like an inhouseday and workshops. After the Career Committee I joined the Nijmegen Career Event Committee, which organises the two-day Nijmegen Career Event. After the NCE Committee I joined the Conference Committee. This time I was responsible for the acquisition of the companies and the Facebook promotion. My last committee was the Synergy Week Committee. The Synergy Week is the party week of Synergy. I was the chairman and we organized both informal and formal activities, ending the week with a fantastic gala.

I am very glad I became part of Synergy because I met a lot of people by joining activities. Furthermore, I learned a lot of new skills during my time in all these committees. This year I will be part of the board as the chairman. I will be the person who is in the end responsible for the whole association, keeping an overview and supporting the other board members. I am really looking forward to this year. I hope to see you at our Synergy room for a conversation with a cup of tea or coffee and at our activities. Together we will make it a memorable year!

Kind Regards,

Bianca Balvert
