Onlangs ben ik naar het ABN AMRO hoofdkantoor op de Zuidas afgereisd om samen te zitten met één van de trainees van EVG Start, Anne Somsen. Anne is werkzaam in het team ‘Competence and Change’, waarbij zij zich vooral bezighoudt met communicatie gerelateerde activiteiten.

Today I speak with the active member of the month February: Jet Vugts, proud chair of the Synergy Ski Trip Committee. After ten full days of fun, skiing and après-ski at St. François Longchamp with good weather, 44 happy students returned to Nijmegen. If 165 km of ski slopes weren’t enough to fulfil everyone’s wishes, the committee also organized several cool activities. From having dinner at a local restaurant and Dinner Roulette to a Beach Party in the local club and a beer pong tournament. All in all, a trip to never forget.

Stress Management

Stress is defined as the “psychological, physiological, and behavioral response by an individual when they perceive a lack of equilibrium between the demands placed upon them and their ability to meet those demands, which, over a period of time, leads to ill-health” (Palmer, 1989). Put simply, someone experiences stress when (s)he cannot meet the expectations (demands) placed on them within a specific time frame.
