Lunch Lecture with Alumni

On Thursday the 3rd of February , Synergy’s Formal Master Committee is organising a lunch lecture from 12:15h until 13:30h. During the event, 4 Radboud Business Administration alumni will tell you about where they currently work, what it is they actually do, and how they made the step from studying to work. Of course, there’s also the opportunity to ask questions. It is possible to attend a maximum of 3 readings during the event. The following 4 speakers will be present during the event: Myrthe van der Burght (master Strategic Management). Myrthe works as a junior consultant at IBC Ambition, where she is participating in the Development Program. She is currently working at client Lightspeed where she is working on improving HR. She’s also writing (new) HR policies and is involved as a consultant with various other projects.   Chiara Raco (master Marketing). After finishing her master’s, Chiara joined SchaalX where she is participating in the Digital Marketing Traineeship. She is involved with various digital marketing projects for clients and is currently working on the B2B marketing department at ENGIE Energie Nederland. Here she works on optimizing customer acquisition & retention processes, online communication, and creating online campaigns. (The traineeships are only in Dutch)   Bianca Balvert (master OD&D). Bianca works as a consultant at ORGfit where she is involved in different projects with various roles. Currently, she’s working on various projects, amongst which the implementation of an HRM system in education, the implementation of the A3 methodology in a security region, and a Zero Based Budgetting project in a municipality. (You can only apply at ORGfit if you can speak Dutch)   Mathijs van Doorn (master OD&D) works at IG&H, a consultancy organisation that focuses on digital transformations. Mathijs is part of the Transformation team which focuses on organizational design, Agile working, leadership and HR changes. Synergy Drink: White Lies

Since the exams are over and the pubs have opened again; it’s time for another Synergy Drink! This time the theme is ‘ White lies ’: thus it would be nice if you come dressed with a white tee that has a so-called white lie on it. Be creative and come up with the best white lie! The drink will take place from 19:00h until 22:00h at Drie Gezusters in the Molenstraat. Since we have limited time, entrance is only between 19:00h and 20:00h.  Also, there's limited space so make sure you sign up as soon as possible. Among the members who signed up, we will be giving away one VIP-package for the drink! The registrations open Friday, the 28th of January at 12:00h . Are you interested in joining one of our committees? Subscribe for this event and let us know in which committee you want to participate! Active Membership   at Study Association Synergy means that you participate in one of the 23 committees that Synergy has. All committees have the purpose of organizing or supporting activities for members of Synergy. The nature of the activities differs from informal activities to major career events. You can participate in an informal committee or a formal committee. Available committees:  Atlas Trip Committee Business Trip Committee Community Committee Conference Committee Formal Master Committee (Chairman) Kick-Off Committee Magazine Committee Orientation Week Committee Photo Committee Ski Trip Committee Synergy Week Committee Are you interested in being a chairman of the committee? Information Session for Active Membership

Are you interested in joining one of our committees starting in February and do you want to become an active member? On the 8th of February we will tell you all about it during the  Information Session for Active Membership ! The information session will take place on campus during the break from 12:15h-13:30h. It will also include a free lunch , so feel free to sign up for the information session! Active membership at Study Association Synergy means that you participate in one of the 23 committees that Synergy has. All committees have the purpose of organising or supporting certain activities for members of Synergy, but it is also a great way to develop yourself and to meet new people! The nature of the activities differs from informal activities to major career events! During the information session we will elaborate on what it means to be an active member, which committees we offer and what the committees will be organising. Committees that will be starting in February are:  Ski Trip, Atlas, Business Trip, Synergy Week, Conference, Orientation Week, Kick-Off, Community and Photo Committee! We're also looking for members who would like to join the Magazine Committee and we're looking for someone who wants to be the Chairman of the Formal Master  Committee Sign up and find out which committee fits you the best!    

Management Month: Strategic Management Workshop

This workshop is for students who follow the master Strategic management or are interested in this master Most of us are busy orienting ourselves on a Master or may have already made a choice in which Master we want to do. To help you orientate on a Master's and to give you an idea of what you can do after your Master's, we organize the Management Month from Synergy. On February 9, we are organizing a workshop for students who are interested in the master Strategic Management! During this workshop, we will work on a case that you might encounter when you start working. This way you can see if this Master is really something for you! The GUPTA workshop for the master's specialization "Strategic Management" will take place on, February 9th from 12:15 - 13:30 . Gupta Strategists is an independent consulting firm for organizations in the healthcare sector, in the Netherlands, and abroad. They distill complex issues into practical solutions and innovative ideas. Gupta Strategists offers solutions to complex problems. During this workshop Simon and Sven from Gupta will discuss a Strategy Case about a health insurer. This will give you an idea of what you can do in practice after completing your master's in Strategic Management. The program of the workshop: 12:15 – 12:30 : Introduction to Gupta 12:30 – 13:15 : Strategy case about a health insurer (joint start, then in groups) 13:15 – 13:30 : Group presentations and closing If you live within a radius of 4 km from the center of Nijmegen, as a Synergy member you have the opportunity to receive a FREE lunch at home. You can also pick up lunch in the Synergy room February 9th! !

Valentine's Dance Session

We have a special for you on Valentine's Day! On Monday the 14th of February we look forward to a joint dance lesson with you. We will learn a mix of Latin dance and spend a great dance evening together.  Sign up together with a friend or with your partner and receive a box of chocolate for your Valentine! The event starts at 19:30 and goes until 21:30. For members, the event will cost €2,- and for the non-members, the price will be €6. Second-Year Activity: Escape Boat

As a second-year student, do you dare to escape in one of the escape rooms at Escapeboot?   On February 15 th  at 19:00, the escape boat will be rented for second-year students. Do you think you can escape from the boat? JFV x SYNERGY CANTUS

*Unfortunately the cantus will be held in Dutch* On the 17th of February we will organise a Cantus together with JFV, the study association for the faculty of laws. This evening will be about creating brotherhood with one another and between the Study Associations. It is going to be a legendary evening, that you do not want to miss! The cantus will take place at the Goffertstadion and it will start at 18:15h.  Also, there will be a 'formal' dress code for the cantus. If you know anything that could be useful for the praesidium you can send the gossip to secretary@synergy.nu  or you can fill in the box when subscribing ( Note : this would take longer for you to register). The registrations will open on Tuesday the 8th of February at 15:00h . Members can join the cantus for just €10,-, while non-members will pay €24,11. Board Information Session

*Unfortunately this activity will be for Dutch-speaking students only* Do you want to experience the year of a lifetime, add an amazing experience to your resume and be the head of the largest Study Association of Nijmegen? Then become a board member at Synergy! Are you curious about what a board year actually entails? Join us at the Synergy Board Information session on Monday the 21st of February ! During this evening, the board will explain what the different functions are and what a board year in general entails. There will also be plenty of time for questions that you have. The session starts at 17:00h, during the session we will also provide you with some fries, snacks, and some drinks!

Management Business Fair

The (online) Management Business Fair will start in a few weeks. It will be the perfect moment to focus on your options during and after your study by getting to know all kinds of organisations from various branches. The first three organisations you are able to meet are Smart Data People, EY and Interpactum. The Management Business Fair will be very special this year with Prof. Dr. Jan Peter Balkenende as guest speaker! Balkenende is known as Former Prime Minister of The Netherlands from 2002 till 2010. Moreover, he currently holds the position of an external senior adviser to EY, is an associate partner of the 'Hague Corporate Affairs' and is a member of the Supervisory Board of ING. Management Madness: Beer Tasting
