Management Month: Strategic Management Workshop

The ORMIT workshop for the master's specialization "Strategic Management" will take place on Monday, March 1st from 12:15 - 13:30. During an ORMIT traineeship, personal development is key. That's why ORMIT's Workshop will also focus on a subject that has been delegated to this end.  Procrastination: we all recognise it and don't do it. Procrastination is particularly relevant in these crazy times in which we live and where everyone works and studies from home. We find that we start to miss going to the office and university. At home, we find it increasingly difficult to concentrate and/or motivate ourselves, which leads to procrastination. This is what ORMIT wants to address with its workshop. During ORMIT's workshop, the theme of procrastination behaviour will be addressed. During this workshop, you will gain insight into when people exhibit procrastination behaviour, why they do it and how you can better deal with it. What you learn during this interactive and instructive ORMIT workshop is immediately applicable in your daily life!  Do you want to find out more about ORMIT and their opportunities for you? Synergy Drink: Ranking the Synergy Stars

Are you the right person for one of these questions? We will find out! Everyone can vote for the person that they think fits best to the question. This means that during this drink, you will be jury as well as candidate. Bring your friends and fellow students to this online drink, get to know each other better and have fun! Some extra information: this drink will have a touch of mystery, so get ready for this!

The Big International Bake-Off

Unleash your inner pastry chef  during the Big International Bake-Off on the 2nd of March, organised by the Informal Committee. You can win amazing prizes if you have the most delicious creation: a Google Nest Mini , and if you decide to bake the most beautiful creation you can win a JBL GO black . If you live farther away than 3 kilometres from the centre of Nijmegen you can only compete for the most beautiful creation. The rules are as follows: March 1st you’ll get the instructions if you need any (we’ll send them anyways). When you have received the information you will have until 16:00 to finish your creation, a little sidenote: It needs to have chocolate. After 16:00 we will pay a visit and taste your creation. After all participants have been visited the jury will meet up in THE CUBE at 19:00 and announce the lucky winners!  You are able to register by yourself and with a friend! If you incorporate something international you’ll get bonus points. Coffee Tasting

During the month of March we will be facing the sin 'Sloth'. And what best to overcome this sin with? The magic juice called coffee! Are you a huge fan of coffee and would you like to learn more about making delicious coffee at home? On the third of March, starting 15:15h, we are hosting a fun and yummy workshop together with PUCK Nijmegen, where we will tell you all about different types of coffee, ways to prepare coffee and how to make your own coffee at home! With this workshop, you will receive a coffee package including a V60 coffee maker, filters, and 2 types of coffee to be used during the workshop. Members pay €6,50 for this workshop, non-members pay €18,00. You are only able to receive the coffee package if you live within a 4km radius of the city centre of Nijmegen.  Hurry and register, since there are very limited spots available. You can (de)register until the 1st of March. When you deregister before this period, you will get the expences payed back, minus €0,36 of iDeal costs. 

Synergy Conference 2021 - Crisis Expert package

*Sadly, this event will held in Dutch* Despite the pandemic, the annual Synergy Conference will be organized on Thursday the 4th of March, 2021! This year, various organizations from both the private and the public sector will participate to connect theory and practice together with students, with this year's theme: Crisis Management. As an organization, how do you deal effectively with a crisis situation and keep your head above the water? How do you drag your team of employees through a major crisis? And how do you manage a crisis and can you take advantage of it? Together with Supply Value, Rijkswaterstaat, NS and the CWZ hospital, we will work on these questions and discuss examples from all kinds of crises. Due to the circumstances, the conference will take place online via Zoom. Nevertheless, we are convinced that this will be a very interesting and educational day full of interactive workshops and inspiring lectures for all participants! Participating in the day, together with the Crisis Expert package containing a luxury lunch, a partysnack box composed by Fort Lent and two delicious specialty beers from De Toog costs €5. If you only want to register for participation and a goodie bag for €2, you can click here . Wine Tasting for (pre-)masters

A wine (tasting) a day, keeps the doctor away. During this second activity of the Informal Master Committee on the 8th of March, 21:00h, we will be tasting three different wines while enjoying lovely snacks to cleanse your pallet, that is the only way you can really taste the wines! The wine tasting will be given by a professional from Tappers in Nijmegen. Participation costs €5 for members,  non-members pay €15. The wine tasting packages can be picked up on the 8th of March. More information on the address for picking up and the link to the activity will be shared soon.  You can (de)register until the 5th of March, 12:00PM. When you deregister before this period, you will get the expences payed back, minus €0,36 of iDeal costs. 

Online General Members Meeting

On Thursday the 11 th of March, the board of Synergy will present their semi-annual evaluation during the General Members Meeting. The General Members Meeting will be in Dutch. The General Members Meeting will take place via Zoom. From 19.45 you are welcome and at 20.00 the meeting will start. You have to subscribe for the General Members Meeting. An e-mail will be sent to you containing the Zoom-meeting link, the agenda, the semi-annual evaluation, the changes made to the rules of procedure and the minutes of the last General Members Meeting when these documents are available. If you would like to receive the evaluation of the financial plan, you can request these by sending an email to  secretary@synergy.nu . These documents are also available at the Synergy office (Heyendaalseweg 141.00.180) from the 25 th of February. However, it will be unlikely that the office will be open for visiting.  We expect you to read these documents in advance of the General Members Meeting. Also, send your questions regarding the documents to chairman@synergy.nu , ultimately by Monday the 8 th of March. Only questions will guide the General Members Meeting. If you do not understand Dutch, our secretary can send you a summary in English. If you cannot attend the General Members Meeting, please send an e-mail to secretary@synergy.nu . Someone else can cast your vote for you, if you let us know at least 24 hours before the start of the General Members Meeting. If you cannot attend, but you are interested in receiving the documents, please send an e-mail to secretary@synergy.nu to receive these documents. There is extra emphasis on reading the documents before. As stated before, questions can be sent in until Monday the 8 th of March. The submitted questions will be answered when discussing their relevant parts in the documents. We hope to see you the 11 th  of March.
