Serious Request: Help us beat Corona… Literally

The Community Committee will be fundraising money for Serious Request again this year. This year, Serious Request will be raising money for the Red Cross, in order to help the healthcare warriors who are in the frontline against this pandemic.  This is why this year we want to invite you all to  Help us all beat corona... Literally !  The Community Committee has created Coronavirus shaped Piñatas, they are filled with candies and two of them contains a GOLDEN TICKET. Could it be you who finds a golden ticket and wins a Yoghurt Barn voucher or the movie theatre for €15? We will be delivering the Piñatas on the 11 th  of December. For only €10 you will be able to expres your wrath on the virus and support a good cause! Unfortunately, you are only able to order the Piñatas if you live in Nijmegen. You are able to purchase the Piñata until the 10th of December. We hope you’re enthusiastic about helping others as we are. And remember… you can always beat, kick or destroy your piñata if you feel you had enough of the virus!

Serious Request: Vengeful Present, Smirnoff Ice Edition

This year, Serious Request will be raising money for the Red Cross, in order to help the healthcare warriors who are in the frontline against this pandemic.  We want to invite you to prank your friends with the traditional Smirnoff Ice hidden bottle prank. The process is easy: buy a bottle for €7,50, leave your friend’s address and we’ll make sure to deliver it to them on the 14th of December.  You will be able to take your revenge and support a good cause at the same time! But remember... we can also come knocking on your door! Let the games begin... Unfortunately, you are only able to prank your friend is they live in Nijmegen. This year, Serious Request will be raising money for the Red Cross, in order to help the healthcare warriors who are in the frontline against this pandemic.  This is why this year if you don’t know what to give to your family or friends… stress no more!  Give your friends and family beautiful X-MAS cards, designed by the Community Committee and help the Red Cross fight the virus with your purchase.  You can buy three beautiful cards for only €5! We’ll be delivering during the week from the 16-18 th  of December. Unfortunately, you will only be able to purchase the cards if you live in Nijmegen. You are able to order the cards until the 15th of December.

(Pre-)Master activity: Liquorettes around the world

After the delay it is now officially time to depart for this virtual trip around the world with the Informal Master Committee on the 3rd of December at 20.30 in THE CUBE ! During this flight you are going to make a quiz in teams. This quiz consists of different rounds with themes, among music, people, historic events, pictures, etc. In each round you can win points and after submitting the round you get a code. With this code you can earn bonuspoints and crack the code for the big surprise of the evening. The team who has the most points after five rounds will win the game and a nice price (which will be delivered after the game, only when living in Nijmegen). The activity will end with a drink together. When assigning for this activity you will get a package with some attributes which you need during the quiz! How faster you finish the quiz, the sooner you know what to do with the package. Important, to receive this package you need to live in Nijmegen! Members pay €2,50, non-members pay €4,00. The package will be delivered to you on December second in the evening. Julie Dubbe is a successful entrepreneur and after years of experience in the hospitality industry she founded The Social Tase. Julie is happy to share tips and tricks on starting your own business! The Social   Taste The Social Taste is a social media agency especially for entrepreneurs in the hospitality, food and leisure sectors. Nowadays, social media can no longer be ignored. The Social Taste has a lot of experience with the behavior of customers and guests, knows what they like to see and knows how to reach people who at times seem far away. Partly because of this, The Social Taste has been able to achieve good results within several companies such as Bairro alto, Funky Salads (formerly Down Town), Parkzicht and Brunswick. Julie will talk about how she started her business during her online presentation. She shares useful tips and tricks if you want to start your own business. Financial General Members Meeting

On Friday the 11th of December, there will be an extra General Members Meeting to rediscuss the financial plan. The General Members Meeting will be in Dutch.  The General Members Meeting will take place on the 11th of December via Zoom. From 12:00 you are welcome and at 12:15 the meeting will start. You have to subscribe for the General Members Meeting. After subscribing an e-mail will be sent to you containing the Zoom-meeting link, the agenda and the (financial) minutes of the previous General Members Meeting. These documents are also available at the Synergy office (Heyendaalseweg 141.00.180) from the 27th of November. The financial documents can be requested by sending an email to secretary@synergy.nu.   You are expected to read these documents in advance of the General Members Meeting. Also, send your questions regarding the documents to chairman@synergy.nu, ultimately by the 4th of December. If you do not understand Dutch, we can send you a summary in English.   If you cannot attend the General Members Meeting, please send an e-mail to secretary@synergy.nu. Someone else can cast your vote for you, if you let us know at least 24 hours before the start of the General Members Meeting. If you cannot attend, but you are interested in receiving the documents, please send an e-mail to secretary@synergy.nu to receive these documents.  Since the General Members Meeting is online, its form will differ slightly from a physical one. There is extra emphasis on reading the documents beforehand. The board will summarise changes made to the financial policy since the previous General Members Meeting and answer the submitted questions. We hope to see you at the 11th of December.

International Christmas Dinner

On the 14th of December at 19:00h  the   annual  International Christmas  Dinner   will  take  place ! On  this   day  we  will   celebrate  Christmas online  together   with   the  ESV.  This   year , a  delicious   three  course  meal   will   be   prepared   by  Proeflokaal Bregje. An  amazing   selection  of options is put  together   for   you ,  which  members  can  get  delivered   to   their  homes  for   only  €7,50. Non-members  pay  €14,95.  After   you  have  received   your  delivery,  you   only   need   to  do  some   final   preperations ,  for   which   an  oven  would   be   necessary .  After   you  have  your   meals   all  ready,  it’s  time  to  take a  seat   behind   your  laptop  and  start  the   festivities ! Information Session about Unilever

All your questions will be answered about Unilever and it will give you the opportunity to take a look at the ins and outs of Unilever. Furthermore, this information session will be a precursor to the case battle on the 27 th  of January, in which you will work together in groups to solve a Unilever case.

(Pre-)Master Activity: High Beer with Trainees

*Unfortunately, this event is for Dutch speaking (pre-) master students only*  Would you like to start a traineeship soon, or would you like to get more info on traineeships in general? Register for the High Beer (Pre-)Master activity where you get the chance to ask 6 different companies about their traineeships. This in combination with tasting beers and enjoying some snacks on Tuesday, December 15 starting at 20:00. A traineeship is a (starting) position at a company, where you will be trained to become a specialist in the field. Typically during a traineeship, multiple projects will be tackled in combination with knowledge and skill trainings.  The main advantages of traineeships are close personal support, the opportunity for personal development and being able to get a clear view of the organisation. The trainees of the following companies will be present during the activity: KPMG, de Nederlands Spoorwegen, Nestlé, Sligro, Alliander and the Dutch Government.  You will have the chance to talk to three trainees during the three rounds that will be held. Make sure to put down your top 4 so we can take your prefferences into account. If you register, you will receive a package containing the beers! Members pay €2,50, non-members pay €12,50. You are only able to order the beer kit if you live in Nijmegen or Arnhem.  You can subscribe and unsubscribe  until the 10th of December. We hope to see you all on the 15th of December!
