Freshmen Dinner

The Waagh

At the 7th of September we have got our first Freshmen Dinner! All first year students and their mentors are welcome to join us at The Waagh to see eachother again and have a delicious dinner. This dinner is the ideal moment to get to know your fellow students better after the orientation week. The subscriptions open at the 27th of August at 12 o'clock. Members pay €6,50, non-members pay €8,50. We start at 6 o'clock at The Waagh and hope to see all of you there! You can choose one of the following meals:  Chicken roulade with a red wine sauce  Baked camembert with a berry sauce Whole baked trout  Vegan beet burger  Every meal is served with fries and salad!   If you want to unsubscribe for an activity, this can be done up to 24 hours before the activity by sending an email to secretary@synergy.nu. The activity fee will be refunded minus €0,36 euro for IDeal costs.

Synergy Drink: Game Night

At the 7th of september we celebrate the kick-off of the new academic year! Come and cheers with us on a good new semester! The drink will take place at Café Van Buren from 21:00h till 01:00. Because there are limited spots, you have to sign up for the drink. We hope to see all of you there!

Subscribe for this event and let us know in which committee you want to participate in.  Active membership at Study Association Synergy means that you participate in one of the twenty-one committees that Synergy has. All committees have the purpose of organising or supporting activities for members of Synergy. The nature of the activities differs from informal activities to major career events. You can participate in an informal committee or a formal committee. Available committees: Career, Community, Connect, Formal Master, Informal, Informal Master, International, Magazine, Member Deal, NCE, Personal Development, PR, Sport, Synergy Drink and Synergy Weekend Committee.  Are you interested in being a chairman of the committee? Check that box, let us know for which committee you want to be a chairman and send a short motivation letter (maximum of 250 words) to marketing@synergy.nu before the 21st of September, 12 o'clock!  Questions? Join the session here Are you interested in becoming an active member? Come to our online information session about active membership! Active membership at Study Association Synergy means that you participate in one of the twenty-one  committees  that Synergy has. T here are many committees  you can participate in.  All committees have the purpose of organizing activities for members of Synergy. The nature of the activities differs from informal activities to major career events. You can participate in a informal committee or a formal committee. The workload of the committees varies from 1 to 5 hours a week. The formal committees often have a higher workload. When you become an active member of Study Association Synergy, you can gain valuable practical experience. You will learn how to cooperate with fellow students a nd you can learn how to contact companies (this varies from local pubs and companies to large multinationals).  Of course you will also meet tons of new people and, above all, it is a lot of fun!    This is the first of the two information sessions about active membership during the second week of September. During this online session we will tell you all about our different committees and will answer any questions you have. Sign up and find out what committees suit you!

(Pre)-masters activity: Cocktail Workshop

Get to know your fellow pre-)master students whilst shaking cocktails and preparing the most delicious drinks. This informal activity is a nice way to get started in Nijmegen and get the most out of your stay at the RU during your (pre-)master. Subscriptions for this event open Monday the 31st of August. We start at 8 o'clock at Tappers. Welcome to ‘Nimma’ – Treasure Hunt

Get to know the city of Nijmegen and your fellow students, whilst playing games all over the city of Nijmegen. We will divide everybody into groups of 5. For the winners we have arranged great prizes, so break a leg! The winners will be revealed afterwards. Meet, Dine & Sign by KPMG

On the September 15, 16 and 17 in Amtelveel and September 18 in Rotterdam, KPMG organises a Meet, Dine & Sign event. KPMG works on improvement of people and society. Are you currently enrolled in a Masters in Accountancy and looking for an intership? KPMG will give you certainty in uncertain times: meet KPMG during this event and learn more about the internship opportunities. During Meet, Dine & Sign you will get to know the audit within KPMG, get to know your colleagues and maybe you'll walk out with your internship contract! This interactive day consists of different parts, but the important thing is that you get to know KPMG well and vice versa. During this event, there will be an introduction, content presentation and a selection element. This way you will learn more about the internship opportunities at KPMG in a short time and there is a possibility that you can come and do an internship with KPMG after this day! You can sign up until the 10th of September  here .

Online Pub Quiz: with Specialty beer kit

You have to stay in Nijmegen to order the kit! Does your general knowledge exceed that of all your fellow students? Challenge them in this online pubquiz. A great variety of themes will be questioned and of course, the winners will be rewarded!  And that's not all! Bring the pub to your own home: for only €5 members can receive a beer kit with three specialty beers right at your doorstep! Non-members pay €7,50. The only condition is that the delivery address is located in Nijmegen. More info about the time of delivery will be communicated to you via email.  If you do not want to make use of the delivery service, you can still sign up for the pub quiz only here . We will be playing in teams of 5 people. Do you want to submit your own team? Make sure to write down your team name! If not, we will divide you into teams.  You can sign up and out until the 18th of September, 23:59. You can't sign out for the kit after this date.

General Members Meeting

On Tuesday the 22nd of September, the annual inauguration of the new board will take place during the General Members Meeting. During this meeting, the board of 2019-2020 will evaluate the past year and the candidate board of 2020-2021 will present their plans for this year. The General Members Meeting will be in Dutch. The General Members Meeting will start at 20:00 hours at de Waagh. You are welcome to join us from 19.30 hours for a cup of coffee or tea. You have to subscribe for the General Members Meeting via the Synergy website. After subscribing you will receive an e-mail containing the agenda, evaluation of the policy plan, the records of the last General Members Meeting and the plan of the candidate board. If you would like to receive the evaluation of the financial plan, you can request these by sending an email to  secretary@synergy.nu . These documents will also be available at the Synergy Office (Heyendaalseweg 141.00.180), from the 8th of September at 17.00 o'clock. If you are placed on the reserve list, you can attend the General Members Meeting via Discord online and you can ask questions via the chat.  If you do not understand Dutch, our secretary can send you a summary in English. If you cannot attend the General Members Meeting, please send an e-mail to  secretary@synergy.nu . Someone else can vote for you, if you let us know 24 hours before the start of the General Members Meeting.  If you cannot attend, but you are interested in the evaluation and the plan of the candidate board of Study Association Synergy, please send an e-mail to  secretary@synergy.nu  to receive these documents.  We hope to see you there!
